"LSU vs. Ohio State- Final Score"

On January 7, 2008 our LSU Tigers football team destroyed Ohio State by a final score of 38-24. Don't get me wrong. I was happy with this score, but it wasn't as close as it appears. In the final minute or so, Ohio scored a desperation touchdown while LSU had their 2nd and 3rd string players in the game. Everyone that watched the game knows that this was a three touchdown game. After Ohio jumped out to a quick 10 point lead, it was all LSU! In fact, the only thing that slowed our offense down was the halftime break. Without a stupid halftime, it was obvious that the final score would have been more like 78-17!

"BCS National Championship Game Highlights"

In a game in which LSU dominated the Ohio State Buckeyes, it's hard to pick just a few highlights in the BCS national championship game. I'll try to do it anyway.

The only highlight for Ohio State happened in the first two minutes of the game. In their first drive, LSU was blitzing when their running back broke through the line to score on a 65 yard run. When LSU got the ball on offense, they were obviously nervous. A missed snap led to the Tigers having to kick it from their 5 yard line. When Ohio got the ball back, they scored a field goal to go ahead 10-0. After this, it was all LSU!

A huge highlight for LSU was the efficiency of Matt Flynn. Our quarterback looked extremely sharp for the BCS national championship game. In fact, he hasn't looked this sharp in a long time. He threw one interception that resulted in LSU's only turnover, compared to three for Ohio State. He also ran a few quarterback keeper plays that looked weak. Other than that, Matt Flynn had an awesome game. He ripped a few passes into tight spots, and he had some great touch passes (like the touchdown to Lafell). Matt Flynn ended up with the MVP trophy for the BCS national championship game, and he truly deserved it because of his highlights.

Another one of the highlights for LSU in the BCS national championship game was the lack of penalties. We led the SEC in beating ourselves with penalties all season long, but not on this night. While Ohio State was racking up one personal penalty after another, LSU only had 2 unintentional penalty for the whole game! That was amazing!

Glenn Dorsey was a highlight in the BCS game as well. A lot of us were praying that Dorsey would truly be healthy for this game. He hasn't been healthy in so long, and we really needed him for this one. Well, we got what we asked for. Glenn Dorsey looked great, and there were no signs of him being anything but healthy. Dorsey looked explosive and confident for the entire football game. Man, we will really miss you Glenn Dorsey!

Another one of the highlights was the blocked field goal. LSU blocked a field goal attempt by Ohio State at a critical moment in the game. While it may not have been the game decider, it seemed like the momentum full shifted towards LSU after this play. Not only did Stefoin Francois block this field goal, but he had an overall awesome game. Francois also received the defensive player of the game award. He deserved it.

LSU slaughtered Ohio State to become the national football champions in the Superdome in New Orleans, LA on January 7, 2008!

"LSU Is Number One!"

At the end of the day, after the Superdome cleared out, guess what the final word is. Come on, take a guess. OK, you got it.

LSU IS NUMBER ONE!

GEAUX TIGERS!
